Celebration Rules

In order to have a successful event, we ask all attendees to adhere to the following rules and regulations. We reserve the right to ask attendees not adhering to these rules to leave the event premises.

  • No smoking or vaping

  • No coolers

  • No bikes, scooters, or skateboards

  • No pets (service animals exception)

  • No external fireworks (this includes sparklers, firecrackers, roman candles, etc.)

  • No outside alcohol

Getting Here

  • Recommended Bus Routes:

    • Route 18 (Nicollet Ave):
      Nicollet & 66th > RTE 515 East

    • Route 515 (66th Street):
      Stop: 66th & Portland
      Stop: 66th & Park Ave

    • Route 924/D (MOA>Bkln Park):
      Stop: 66th & Portland
      Stop: 66th & Park Ave

    During the Fireworks some bus routes are closed. Use the following routes instead.

    • Route 515 (66th St):
      Stop: 66th & 12th (East of Park)
      Stop: 66th & Nicollet

    • Route 924/D (MOA>Bkln Park):
      Stop: 66th & Bloomington

  • Event locations on the website are linked to a google maps. We recommend utilizing Google Maps to find your ideal route by car.

    However, please note, on July 4th the following roads will be closed to support Richfield 4th of July activities.

    • Harriet Ave from 73rd Street to 70th Street | 11am - 3:30pm

    • 70th Street from Harriet Ave to 12th Ave | 11am - 3:30pm

    • 66th Street from Portland to 12th Ave | 4 - 11pm

    • Portland Ave from HWY 62 to 66th | 8-11pm

  • Richfield is a very walkable city and has boasts new sidewalks along Portland Ave and along 66th Street.

    Most side streets are wide and provide ample room for both cars and pedestrians.

    Tips to be safe:

    • Walk against traffic

    • Use sidewalks whenever possible

    • Wear comfy shoes

    • Wear light colors walking after dark

Parking

  • There will be street parking available at all events but we recommend walking or biking to events if possible.

    The following Veterans Park parking lots will be closed during our celebrations.

    • Richfield Ice Arena

    • American Legion

    • Veterans Park Farmers Market (During and after fireworks only)

  • Handicap parking for the parade, street dance and fireworks is at Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel parking lot.

  • There is ample bike parking at the Richfield Pool.

Food & Drink

  • We've got 8 amazing food trucks for you over the 4th of July Celebration!

    - SB Concessions: Cheese Curds & Corn Dogs

    - HaDa Foodie: Garlic Buns, Iced Tea, Sticky Rice, Meatballs, and more!

    - Que Taco: Tacos, Aguas Frescas (Fruit juices that are less sweet, less sticky, and very refreshing), Mexican Street Corn, and more!

    - Westrums: Cheese Curds and Smoothies

    - Taco Taxi: Tacos, Tortas (delicious Mexican Sandwiches), Burritos, and more!

    - Westrums: French Fries

    - Samurai Teppanyaki: Teriyaki Beef & Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Potstickers, Egg Rolls, and an amazing Yum-Yum Sauce!

    - Westrums: Foot Long Hot Dogs and Corn Dogs

    Most Food Vendors will take cards, but you may want to bring cash to be safe. There will be an ATM in the Ice Arena with limited cash, so plan ahead!

  • No outside alcohol is allowed.

    A selection of alcoholic beverages can be enjoyed at the Beer Garden on July 3rd and July 4th.

  • Yes. There will be a Beer Garden.

Cost

  • Most events are free and open to everyone. The below events and actives have fees.

    Street Dance - $5 admission (Kids five and under are free)

    Beer Garden - Beverage tickets are $7 each

    Bounce Houses - Individual tickets $3, One day wristband $15, Two day wristband $25

  • Richfield 4th of July activities are cash only. These include Beer Garden, Bounce Houses, and Street Dance.

    An ATM will be available to use during the events located in the Richfield Ice Arena.

    Food Trucks will accept their standard payment type(s).

Miscellaneous

  • To facilitate the parade, the following roads will be closed on July 4th from 11am - 3:30pm.

    • Harriet Ave - 73rd to 70th

    • 70th Street - Harriet Ave to 12th Ave

  • To facilitate the Fireworks and 4th of July Celebration, the following roads will be closed.

    • 66th Street from Portland to 12th Ave (4 - 11pm)

    • Portland Ave from HWY 62 to 66th (8-11pm)

  • Unfortunately, we were unable to coordinate curling this year. We hope to have this event ready for next years celebration.
